Bell X1 gives away acoustic-ish version of 'In Every Sunflower' from new double-LP

For whatever reason, we could never quite get a handle on Bell X1. Actually, wait, we know the reason: it must have been the electric guitars.

The Irish band replaced them with acoustics on “Field Recordings,” a new 21-song double album of music recorded on Bell X1’s 2010 tour. The difference is subtle, but significant, on “In Every Sunflower,” a somber, beautiful tune that becomes even more stately as synthesizers drift past, framing Paul Noonan’s tousled voice with occasional squiggles of sound.

It’s the free song from “Field Recordings,” which came out July 20.
