Cayucas preserves the last vestige of summer on breezy single 'Cayucos'

We talk a lot here about Richard Swift, and for good reason: He has great taste. This time, he has produced the breezy new single by Cayucas. The band is really the project of Santa Monica musician Zach Yudin, whose press bio describes him as a “man of leisure.”  He’s also a bird-watcher who is fluent in Japanese, and, oh yeah, he has this song called “Cayucos.”

With a punchy beat and hooky vocals that Yudin delivers in a voice layered in reverb, the sunny tune is a great way to preserve the last vestige of a bygone summer. Backed for now with another catchy tune called “Swimsuit,” there’s a good chance “Cayucos” will end up on a full-length album due sometime in 2013.
