Look, we know we’re a little past due in posting “Hey, Doreen,” the first single from Lucius’ upcoming LP, “Wildewoman.” Our excuse? We were, um, busy. Seeing Lucius live! Yeah, that’s it. Seriously, though Lucius wowed us at Wilco’s Solid Sound Festival in June, where Jeff Tweedy called them the festival MVPs after singers Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig sat in with Wilco on songs including a cover of Abba’s “Waterloo.”

The Brooklyn band performed a killer set of their own, too, including the title track from “Wildewoman,” which is one of those songs that gets lodged in your head for days. So is “Hey, Doreen,” thanks to the relentlessly hooky piano line, chugging guitar and Wolfe and Laessig’s impenetrably tight vocal harmonies.

The song is on “Wildewoman,” which is due Oct. 15 on Mom + Pop.
