Premiere: The Proud Flesh Tease New LP With 'Use Once and Destroy'

New Haven band the Proud Flesh has spent much of the past year working on “Home,” the follow-up to the band’s 2010 release “Tiny Picture Frames,” which they’re releasing April 23. You don’t have to wait until then to hear it, though: The Proud Flesh will perform “Home” in its entirety when the group plays with Two Gallants this Saturday, Dec. 29, at The Space in Hamden.

In the meantime, Listen, Dammit, is exceedingly pleased to premiere the new song “Use Once and Destroy,” a melancholic tune that pairs Alexander Burnet’s drowsy voice with rootsy accompaniment from acoustic guitar, subtle keyboard swells and a deceptively jaunty whistled part as the song opens into expansive vocal harmonies over a steady beat. It’s a promising taste of an album that’s been a long time coming.
