Wye Oak returns in March with new LP; gives away mp3 of title track, 'Civilian'

Over the course of two LPs and an EP, Wye Oak has remained a fairly insular affair: singer/guitarist Jenn Wasner and multi-instrumentalist Andy Stack wrote, performed and recorded all the songs themselves. They changed up the formula on “Civilian,” the Baltimore duo’s third LP.

Wasner and Stack brought in Shearwater and St. Vincent collaborator John Congleton as the mixing engineer, who helped them shape songs Wasner says explore “aloneness (the positive kind), loneliness (the horrible kind), moving on, and letting go (of people, places, and things).”
